Eau - Ça n'a pas l'air de venir de latin (aqua), ni gérmanique (watr ou watn, je sais pas trop)

Hm... je pense que j'ai oublié l'autre... Confused

Pour répondre à tes questions, je peux d'abord dire qu'en wallon (autre langue d'Oïl), on dit "aiwe" pour "eau", et que dans la chanson de Roland, ce mot apparaît pour la première fois sous la forme de "ewe". Cela vient tout simplement du latin "aqua" (le germanique "watr" a la même origine Indo-Européenne "aq'wa"), par évolution, on en est arrivé à "ewe", ensuite à "eaue" et enfin à "eau". Rolling Eyes
